Running Program

Today is the my first day of my marathon training program. I am training for the EAU Palm Beach Marathon, December 6th 2015. 9 weeks away. They also offer a half marathon, 4 Person Marathon Relay, Life Time 5k, and Lifetime Student 5k! Check out the link.

Brandon Mercado, my boyfriend (the best boyfriend I’ve ever had, as he self proclaimed last night and yes – it’s undoubtedly true!), took me out to Rocco’s Taco’s in Boca Raton last night (yum), and wrote it for me, sitting next to me!

A little background information on Brandon Mercado.

  • His Facebook name is Heart & Sole https://www.facebook.com/heart.sole.98?fref=t
  • (As he told me last night that he puts his whole heart & soul into things, including me <3)
  • He is an ultra marathoner – he’s a great, great runner
  • He ran from Florida to Michigan apart of Road Warriors, for cancer patients.
  • Works at Runner’s Edge, in Boca
  • He truly has the best heart, goofiest, and most phenomenal, happiest personality!
  • He’s a Leo!

So below is my nine week training program! It’s going to build me up nice and strong!

It started on a Wednesday (today 9-30-2015)

Guidelines: You can add mileage any day, as long as you stay committed to running the next day’s mileage. Also, if needed, can do splits in the higher mileage, i.e. week 8: 20 miles – 10 in the morning, before work, 10 in the evening after work. JUST GET MOVING!!!

  1. Week 1: 5, 5, 3, 5 (15), 7, 5, 3
  2. Week 2: 5, 7, 5(3), 9(11), 5(0), 3, 3
  3. Week 3: 5, 7, 10 (0), 10(20), 3 (13), 5(0), 12
  4. Week 4: 7, 7, 10, 12(20), 10(0), 5, 15
  5. Week 5: 7, 5, 7, 11, 11, 7, 5
  6. Week 6: 5, 3, 5, 10, 10, 10, 20
  7. Week 7: 10, 10, 10(?), 10, 10, 10
  8. Week 8: 22, 20, 18, 15, 12, 10
  9. Week 9: 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5

I’m excited! Seriously, if you take a look, there are no rest days. My rest days will be the easier and lighter miles. Brandon said some of the best things to me last night about it all, he mentioned how much good this will do for me. I will daily have an intention to run, it’s something that takes true discipline. Dedication. Practice. I will feel AMAZING, to have this goal and something to do daily. I must get these miles in, every single day.  Always knowing that I have to get this miles in , means I gotta arrange my life around it. Healthy living is a lifestyle, it involves proper sleep cycles, good nutrition, and making the right decisions with when it come to my social life. Which is all cool with me!

It’s all worth it. This is what I live for! I love running.
